1. To undertake and promote cutting-edge research into the protection and implementation of socio-economic rights at the regional and domestic levels in Africa.

2. To contribute to the development of jurisprudence on socio-economic rights in Africa.

3. To encourage comparative research on socio-economic rights in Africa.

4. To advocate for the better protection of socio-economic rights in Africa, and support advocacy efforts concerning their implementation.

5. To collaborate with individuals, institutions and organisations with expertise and experience in the promotion, implementation and enforcement of socio-economic rights in Africa.

6. To facilitate information sharing concerning these rights amongst African scholars, activists, NGOs and state officials.
