Elvis Fokala is a PhD Candidate at the Institute for Human Rights – Åbo Akademi University, Finland (Åbo). Elvis holds a Masters (LLM) in Multidisciplinary Human Rights Law from the Centre for Human Rights - University of Pretoria. His PhD research (thesis) is on “Implementing Children's Right to Participation in Africa: An Evaluation of the Legal and Policy Frameworks in South Africa and Cameroon”.

Before joining Åbo, he worked with the Human Rights Institute of South Africa and the School of Law – University of Witwatersrand (part – time). Elvis teaches Engagement with Human Rights course at the International Human Exchange Programme – School of Social Sciences – University of Witwatersrand. He is an active researcher in issues of gender equality, discrimination and the Law.




Mulela Margaret Munalula is an active researcher in issues of gender equality, discrimination and the Law. She has worked in development banking, as a magistrate and finally as a law teacher. 

After attaining her Master’s degree in 1989, Dr Munalula began teaching full-time. Much of her teaching life has been spent at the University of Zambia where she remains to date. In July 2007 she was elected Dean of the School of Law becoming the first woman to hold the position.





Tabeth is currently a Research officer at DGRU. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and holds an LLB from Rhodes University (Cum Laude) and an LLM in Human Rights (Cum Laude) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also the Southern African regional Correspondent of the Oxford Human Rights Hub and has previous experience in HIV/AIDS human Rights advocacy work.

Current research interests include  Gender Transformation in the Judiciary, Women Rights and Constitutional Processes, Gender Dynamics of Zambia’s Constitutional Processes and  Women and the Law.
