Dr Kristina Bentley is a Senior Researcher in the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit of the Department of Public Law at the University of Cape Town. From 2002-2006, she was a Chief Research Specialist with the Democracy and Governance Programme of the Human Sciences Research Council, South Africa. She holds a PhD in political theory, specialising in theories of rights, from the University of Manchester. She has taught and published extensively on human rights in Africa.
